Skiing is the best family activity. Why? It’s so much more than a sport. With busy schedules, it can sometimes feel like a stretch to find time to catch up with family. From grandparents to grandkids, going away allows the family to spend quality time together, without the distractions of day-to-day routine.

We’ve broken it down into 5 top reasons why skiing is simply the best:

1. Everyone can do it

There is something so pure about skiing with family. Skiing is the only sport in which a parent and a child can participate together, and both can enjoy it. Whilst the little ones are snowplowing their way down the mountain with a big smile on their faces & singing songs, you’ll find a proud parent not far behind grinning from ear to ear. We understand that skiing isn’t for everyone – even if you never click your boot into a binding, you can still get involved!  After all, you’re the mountains enjoying the amazing alpine scenery and magical winter holiday atmosphere. 2. It lasts a lifetime

The proof is on the mountain; we’ve witnessed men and women in there 70s, 80s, even 90s cruising down the Sainte Foy slopes. Yes, we all get old, but the sport won’t. You might not be logging as many miles as you did when you were in your prime, the joy of skiing truly lasts a lifetime!

3. It’s one big happy family

Skiing transcends place, language, and all sorts of differences. You know that ‘it’s a small world’ feeling you get when you meet a friend of a friend in a totally random place and then cheers over it? That happens all the time when you dip into the world of skiing (especially in Sainte Foy!). Don’t’ take our word for it: –

“We have visited St Foy for the past 7 years. We love the quiet slopes … no overcrowding.  There are so many familiar faces we see every year it feels like a second home.”

4. It keeps you whole and healthy

Exercise in the great outdoors whilst being with friends and family. What could be better!? Skiing lifts the body, mind and soul, and gets the kids off their video game binge and into nature.

5. It’s something to pass down

Parents pass all sorts of things down to their kids: genes, habits & life lessons. Why not add skiing & boarding to the list?! You can look back at all the good times you had with your family and friends in the mountains. Sledging, snowball fights, goggle tans, long lazy lunches on the mountain whilst building up the family photo album. It’s something that the kids won’t be able to stop talking about for years to come! Winter sports will undoubtedly continue to pass through the generations. And why not? It is, after all, Skiing is the best family activity… EVER!
