Ste Foy offers some of the best food in the alps with a luxury catered chalet experience
Many people tell us that the secret to the perfect winter ski and snowboard holiday in the French Alps is all in the powder. They’re not wrong – but while extensive off-piste and silent slopes are Sainte Foy’s hallmark, we know if you want to enjoy a truly exceptional skiing holiday – you’ve got to leave room for the food.
Choosing a catered stay in the French Alps
A catered chalet is the perfect accommodation option so you can relax and focus on what you’re here to do – ski! Our experienced chalet hosts and chefs offer a personalised catered chalet service giving you more time to enjoy precious quality time with your loved ones. Your menu will be tailored specifically to you and your guests. Special diets are our speciality. (just ask Fiona, our boss – she is gluten-free and vegetarian – she ensures our chefs can cater for everyone without compromising on quality)
What gourmet delights to expect in your catered chalet
You’ll get a full or continental breakfast each morning to keep you on your planks ‘til lunchtime. When hunger finally hits, you can head down to one of the incredible Alpine slope-side restaurants (see details below). After your pitstop, head off into those powder fields for the afternoon before an obligatory après Aperol (or toffee vodka…we won’t judge) at one of the Après Ski spots in the village. Then head to your chalet where our talented staff will ensure a freshly baked cake and plenty of tea and coffee is waiting for you every afternoon.
Your Alpine ski holiday, your rules
Ease your aches in the hot tub or sauna or soak up last of the afternoon sun on the balcony, secure in the knowledge that a delicious four-course restaurant-quality meal is on its way.
Are the kid’s tired out after ski school? We serve dinner a little earlier for little ones. Full tummies and empty plates mean that your snow angels will be tucked up in bed or watching a movie by the time your chef-prepared canapes arrive.
Then it’s time to enjoy an outstanding private dining experience as you unwind and catch up on one another’s stories in your home away from home. Best of all – there’s no dress code!
What can you expect from your evening catered menu?
Your fully trained chef and chalet host/s will have selected the finest local ingredients for your specific dietary requirements and you’ll be able to sit down to a carefully designed 4 course menu. You can see an example of a typical 5 day menu to get those taste buds humming. We also have an example menu for the vegetarians and can cater for the gluten free amongst you. Even the kids get choices of menu to suit those young palates.
Our wine, champagne and prosecco options are hand-picked by a sommelier and inspired by your menu. Go ahead, indulge yourself – that fresh mountain air on the first lift will clear even the foggiest of heads.
Our Favourite Lunchtime Sainte Foy Restaurants
The Savoie region of the French alps is famous for hearty dishes such as Raclette, Fondue Savoyarde and Diots a Savoy. Indulgent and satisfying, these rich recipes are how locals survived the harsh Alpine winters – snowed in; with only cheese, cured meats, wine and potatoes for company (it doesn’t sound so bad if you ask us!). We believe a Savoyard special paired with a glass of quality local wine for lunch is a great way to get your energy back after spending all morning carving lines on the mountain.

From the first lift in the morning to the final run down before après you will be dreaming of a way to replenish those burnt calories. There’s plenty of brilliant bars and restaurants that we can recommend for you to choose from, this is your holiday your way! Just get in touch with our Concierge Office or see our restaurant & amenities page for more details. We’ve listed a couple of lunchtime options below in the meantime.
Les Brevettes restaurant is located at the top of the first lift, thus a favourite for walkers/non skiers as well as skiers. With an extensive menu full of Haute Savoie classics one should not miss the house pasta dishes.
A little further afield and outside the main resort is Chez Merie. (a favourite for off-piste skiers after experiencing the wonderful Col Granier route). Booking is essential for this cosy farmhouse restaurant. It boasts a huge fireplace, an impressive range of dishes and even has an open fire grill right in the dining room. (If you decide to give a summer cycling and walking holiday a try, you might be interested to know they even have an outside pool!).
If you prefer to pop back down the mountain to eat in resort, Le W is open for lunch (and dinner), serving modern cuisine, with dishes prepared in-house from local produce. The contemporary dining area is spread over 2 floors with steak tartare, burgers topped with delicious local cheeses and tiramisu make a regular appearance on the menu.
A broad range of Catered Chalet Accommodation
We have a wide range of catered chalets to choose from so you can pick your ideal ski holiday experience. All catered holidays include one or two non-catered evenings, so you get to experience some of Sainte Foy’s fabulous restaurants of an evening too. And don’t forget – a fully catered chalet holiday means you won’t be stuck with the washing up.
