We’ve been around long enough to know a fair bit about family skiing during the busy school holiday periods. So, listen up and follow these guidelines, to maximize your ski and family time, and to avoid any stresses…
Book Your Accommodation Early!
We find that clients are enquiring and booking their ski holidays earlier each year. Our advice would be to speak with your schools as early as you can to request school holiday dates, which will in turn allow you to book specific weeks off work too. Then, you’re all set to explore the available accommodation options. Once you have decided which catered or self-catered option suits you best, don’t wait too long to firm up your booking – our properties can be booked online at any time, so don’t miss out on popular weeks, such as Christmas, New Year, Feb Half Term and Easter.
Planning Your Travel
Once your accommodation is sorted, the next important part is your travel to Sainte Foy. Flights may not be released so far in advance, so if you know which airlines operate from your preferred UK airport, sign up to their newsletters to keep up to date with flight releases.
If you are intending to take the Eurostar Ski Train to Bourg St Maurice (just 25 minutes from Sainte Foy), we highly recommend you book as early as you can, as spaces are limited and high in demand.
Tickets are on sale for the winter season ahead (these are normally released in July each year) so sign up to Eurostar’s newsletter to be notified when trains are released.
Also check out the travel pages on our website for further info on travel options.
Ski & Snowboard Lessons – Book Early!
Even for non-peak weeks, we highly recommend you book your lessons early to get the best choice of times and to make sure that you get any lessons at all for peak weeks! If you know you need group lessons, there’s no point in holding off until a later date, as you will miss out. Group and private lessons are in high demand and there are 4 excellent ski schools in Sainte Foy so time get your skis on and get booking.
Shared & Private Transfers
Again, our best tip is to book your transfers early – as soon as you have booked your flights or train travel. We offer shared and private airport transfers in our luxury 8-seater minibuses, for large groups, starting from just £80pp return. You can fly to Chambery, Lyon, Grenoble and Geneva airports from the UK, with lots of flight options to choose from.
If you are taking the train to Bourg St Maurice, we offer shared and private transfers, with prices starting at just £15pp return.
It’s important to take time out for you too, after all a family ski holiday is supposed to be about fun for the whole family. The local kids club, run in collaboration between with the lift pass office and ESF ski school in resort, welcome children from 3-11 years in their newly refurbished facility in the centre of resort. The kids club is open 6 days, Sunday to Friday inclusive, with 1, 3 5 or 6 day childcare options available, with or without lunch, including a mix of indoor and outdoor activities with snow shoeing, treasure trails, snow games, sledging, crafts, face painting, creative activities and more… Ski school pickup is also available. Book early to ensure you get places, even during non-peak weeks!

Once you have booked your accommodation with us, we will send you the link to your online client portal where you will be able to pre-order your ski packages at a discounted rate, ready for you to collect on your arrival evening/first morning in resort.
Of course, if you’re reading this and you’ve already booked your Sainte Foy ski holiday, you’ll have booked knowing that even during peak school holiday weeks, your whole family/group are going to have an unforgettable experience. Sainte Foy is much quieter than other resorts, with less busy slopes, hardly any lift queues and a friendly ambiance.
